Word! #1

Our first word! for this week is -Stoic
[Stoh-ik]
Def: 1- adj. of or pertaining to the school of philosophy founded by Zeno, who taught that people should be free from passion, unmoved by joy or grief, and submit without complaint to unavoidable necessity.

Def: 2- noun: a member of adherent of the Stoic school of philosophy.
So if you’re a Stoic, you are a member of a philosophy school that is taught to hate everything, like being unmoved my joy... wow.
Also like Spock from star trek.

Basically, you do not express or show any emotion when it comes to body language but instead you may hide it inside

The person in the far corner that I do not seemed to be very blank and stoic, every time someone talked to him his facial expression did not change and may be wonder what was wrong?

You should be a Stoic person. It changed my life for the worst.

When you are describing someone or a character in any way that does not seem to display emotion with body language. So lets say there is someone in the class that is very quiet and does not have any emotion of being sad, happy, or mad you could tell him or her, "you are very stoic person."

Antonyms- Any words referring or showing a lot of emotion, such as happy, overjoyed which the opposite of happy and sad.

Synonyms-My word is exactly like Indifferent, because you don't care but your not happy or sad at the same time.

The word stoic can actually be quite useful sometimes because when you are describing someone you can use this word if they do not display any emotion on the outside . Especially if it is Chuck Norris and Spock, these two characters mask their emotions as it seems because their body language does not show it.
